Mufasa: The Lion King – Trailer

Release Date: December 20, 2024

Anyone looking forward to another soulless, life action Disney rendition? Not me. I long for the days Disney made classics instead of brazen cash grabs, but here we are.

I was a little confused while watching this trailer. It is supposed to be a story about Mufasa, but most of the trailer looked like reused story from the original Lion King.

Two baby lions hopping over the backs of dancing hippos.

Zebras, giraffes, and elephants dancing in a circle.

A herd stampeding into a gorge.

A baby lion talking to a ghostly face in the stars.

Timon and Pumbaa antics.

A pair of young adult lions frolicking together (probably to the tune of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”).

Does none of this sound a little familiar? The trailer gave me enough de ja vu that I had to look up the premise of the movie just to make sure it is indeed about Mufasa. And it is. It’s supposed to be a prequel to The Lion King about Mufasa’s rise.

Who would have thought that his and Simba’s lives would have looked so similar… with the addition of snow and ice of course.

Not gonna lie though, that baby lion is freaking adorable. <3
